President, Integrated Energy Systems
Mikhail Slobodin was named Director General of Integrated Energy Systems (IES) in 2003, and then President in 2006. He is also Chairman of the BoD at TGK-5 and Deputy Chairman of the BoD at Russian Utility Systems, which he headed over 2005-08. In 2002, Mr. Slobodin was the Director of the TNK Power Development Department, and became Vice President for Energy of TNK-BP once the company merged with British Petroleum. In 2001, he worked as First Deputy Director General for Economics and Finance at Irkutskenergo, and before that he was the Director of the Regional Development Department at Renova. Mr. Slobodin was the Project Manager for establishing UralTEK, a coal energy company with five thermal power plants in Russia and two coal strip mines in Kazakhstan. Over 1999-2000, he worked at Nizhny Tagil Smelter as Deputy Director of Economics and Finance. Mr. Slobodin also headed the Economic Department at SUAL. In 1996, he was named Representative for Ural Region at Renova, where he worked on the Field Cryolite Plant.
Mr. Slobodin graduated from the Ural State University, Faculty of Economics.
