Mikhail Kamensky

General Director, Sotheby’s – Russia and CIS

Prior to becoming the head of Sotheby’s Russia and CIS operations, Mikhail Kamensky served as an advisor to the President of Bank of Moscow and headed Bank of Moscow’s marketing, advertising and PR department. Before that, he was a Deputy Director of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and Deputy Head of the Kommersant daily’s PR department.

Mr. Kamensky is the author of the concept of corporations building collections of Russian art and one of the founders of the Russian art market model. He has published several studies on the art sociology and art management.

Mr. Kamensky is a graduate of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute’s English Department. He holds a Ph.D in philosophy.
