Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation
In 1996 was appointed deputy head of the Presidential Administration and head of the President’s Chief Audit Department. In 1997 became first deputy to the Finance Minister. Since 2000 Mr Kudrin is deputy to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.
In early 1990s, joined the Leningrad Committee for Financial Reform. Then headed the Leningrad Free Trade Zone, the region’s Committee for Economic Development and the Chief Directorate of Finance of the City Council of St. Petersburg. In1993–96 was deputy to the Mayor and head of the city’s Committee for Economics and Finance.
Graduated from the Leningrad State University with a degree in Economics. Worked at the USSR Academy Institute for Social and Economic Studies. Scientific publications include 15 books and articles on economy and finance.
